Shifting season
We learn to adapt long before we realize how much of ourselves we are rearranging.
We observe.
We decode.
We adjust.
We learn the rules, the expectations, the rhythms of a world that doesn’t always move the way we do.
My bear represents that constant adaptation.
The numbers, lines and structured marks symbolize everything we try to understand and organize—the expectations, responsibilities and invisible rules we carry every day. In contrast, his colourful interior reveals what exists beneath the surface: a world that is intense, sensitive, complex and deeply alive.
This experience can be especially familiar within neurodivergence, but it reaches far beyond it. Parents, caregivers, sensitive souls, and anyone who has learned to reshape themselves to meet the needs of others may recognize a piece of themselves here.
The bear is strong. He carries. He protects. He adapts.
But the heart within him is a reminder that adaptation should never require disappearance.
