Where the Wild Stays Hidden

$1,100.00

Sometimes, fitting in becomes an art of survival.

You observe.
You imitate.
You adjust.

You learn which parts of yourself are welcomed and which ones make people uncomfortable. You soften your reactions, rehearse your words, control your movements and hide what feels like “too much.”

Eventually, the mask can become so familiar that you forget you are wearing it.

My fox represents masking—something often experienced by neurodivergent people who consciously or unconsciously change parts of themselves to navigate a world that wasn’t necessarily designed with them in mind.

The fox felt like the perfect symbol: observant, intelligent and constantly aware of its surroundings.

The lines and divisions across his body represent the different versions of ourselves we construct for different spaces. Beneath them, colour breaks through—a reminder that our authentic self never truly disappears.

Masking can protect us.
It can help us belong.
But belonging should not require becoming invisible.

You were never meant to spend your whole life performing yourself.
